Media coverage of our Second Annual Faimta-Shah Muhammad Memorial Hockey Tournament held at Chak 73/RB Karianwala, Faisalabad, Pakistan. Theme of the tournament was "End Polio Now / Make Pakistan Polio Free." It was organized by Paradise Hockey Club and Rotary Club of Lahore Garrison.

Paradise Hockey Tournament - Final (Paradise Hockey Club vs Jawaddi)

Paradise Hockey Club and Jawaddi Hockey Team were declared Joint-Champions after the final match ended in a goal-less draw and both teams remained equal in penalty strokes after twelve stokes each. The Second Annual Fatima-Shah Muhammad Memorial Hockey Tournament was organized by Paradise Hockey Club and Rotary Club of Lahore Garrison at village Chak 73/RB Karianwala, Faisalabad. "Make Pakistan Polio Free / End Polio Now” was theme of the tournament." 22 teams participated in the event. Earlier, Paradise Hockey Club won the first semi final against Dosanja by 5-0. Jawaddi won the second semi final against Bhaiwala by 2-1. Jawaddi team received the trophy and Rs. 15,000 cash while Paradise Hockey team received the trophy and Rs. 10,000 cash. Muhammad Javaid from Jawaddi team was declared Man of the Match and Zahid Amin from Paradise Hockey Club was declared Man of the Tournament. Polio Awareness Wall Clocks were presented to all participating teams. Polio t-shirts, caps and other gift items were presented to all players of both teams in the final.

 

Lt Gen Ch Sardar Ali, Col Nawab Ali, Rotary International’s District Governor Anthony Richards and Mian Imran Afzal were the chief guests at the Final match. Past District Governor Muhammad Ashraf Baig and Rotarians Abdul Haleem, Iqbal Malik, Mubasher Butt, Waseem Aslam, Maqsood Ahmed and Arshed Shakir participated in the event along with a large number of village elders and notables. A large number of audience were present at the match to cheer both teams. Patron-in-Chief and Past District Governor Shehzad Ahmed and Paradise Coordinator Naeem Aslam organized the tournament. National PolioPlus Committee, Interloop, Promark and Sadiq Filling Station (Shell) sponsored the four day event

"Make Pakistan Polio Free" Awareness Walk At Faisalabad

Paradise and Rotary Club of Lahore Garrison organized a Polio Awareness Walk at Chak 73/RB Karianwala, Faisalabad before the final match of Second Annual Fatima-Shah Muhammad Memorial Hockey Tournament.  Theme of the tournament was “Make Pakistan Polio Free.” Children were the active participants, who were educated about the importance of polio eradication.

 The participants were informed that all children less than five years of age should be administered polio drops at each National Immunization Day (NID) campaign – Each Child, Every Time. Polio badges, pencils and balloons with polio messages and biscuits were distributed among the children who waited patiently in queue for their turn. Rotarians Abdul Haleem, Iqbal Malik, Mubasher Butt, Waseem Aslam, Maqsood Ahmed, Arshed Shakir and Moazzam Sandhu participated in the Walk along with a large number of children from the surrounding villages. Past District Governor Shehzad Ahmed and Paradise Coordinator Naeem Aslam organized the Walk.  National PolioPlus Committee, Interloop, Promark and Shakeel Traders sponsored the Walk.

Paradise Hockey Tournament - Semi Final 2 (Jawaddi vs Bhaiwala)

The second semi final of Second Annual Fatima-Shah Muhammad Memorial Hockey Tournament was played between Jawaddi and Bhaiwala Hockey Team. Jawddi won the match by 2-1. The Chief Guests of the match were Past District Governo Muhammad Ashraf Baig, Past President Mubasher Butt, Member National PolioPlus Committee. The Chief Guests were introduced to players of both teams and later group photographs were taken with both teams. During the match, the audience of the match cheered both the teams and praised their performance. At the end of the match, the Chief Guests presented polio awareness wall clocks to the Man of the Match, the losing team Captain and to an outstanding player from the losing side.

 They also recognized volunteers of the tournament by providing them polio awareness t-shirts. Later, they appreciated performance of both teams and also thanked the tournament organizers for inviting them to this healthy activity promoting a very important social cause of polio awareness. The tournament was held at village Chak 73/RB Karianwala, Faisalabad and was organized by Paradise Hockey Club and Rotary Club of Lahore Garrison. Theme of the tournament was "End Polio Now / Make Pakistan Polio Free".

Paradise Hockey Tournament - Semi Final 1 (Paradise Hockey Club vs Dosanja)

The Chief Guests of the match were Past President Pervez Khalid Sheikh, Chairman All Pakistan Yarn Merchants Association; Mr. Rizwan Ashraf, Chairman All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association and Past President Muhammad Iqbal Malik (Bali). The Chief Guests were introduced to players of both teams and later group photographs were taken with both teams. 

 During the match, the crowd of the match cheered both the teams and appreciated their performance. At the end of the match, the Chief Guests presented polio awareness wall clocks to the Man of the Match, the losing team Captain and to an outstanding player from the losing side. Paradise Hockey Tournament - Quarter Final 3 (Paradise Hockey Club vs Ghabianwala)

The third quarter final of Second Annual Fatima-Shah Muhammad Memorial Hockey Tournament was played between Paradise Hockey Club and Ghabianwala Hockey Team. Paradise Hockey Club won the match by 5-1.

      

                              

The Chief Guest of the match was Ch. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the tournament. He was introduced to players of both teams and later group photographs were taken with them. During the match, the audience of the match applauded both the teams and appreciated their performance. The tournament was held at village Chak 73/RB Karianwala, Faisalabad and was organized by Paradise Hockey Club and Rotary Club of Lahore Garrison.
